The AAEEBL Learner (TAL) has, since it's start with the help of Virginia Tech, in 2009, served as a newsletter for AAEEBL and has been called an "informal-scholarly" publication. TAL can be viewed as a stepping-stone to more rigorous academic publication about eportfolio research and use. TAL invites submissions from those new to the field of authentic, experiential and evidence-based learning, particularly as related to eportfolios, as well as to those with experience in the field. We share news, upcoming events, 2-3 page articles with or without images (photos, charts, screen shots, etc.). Writers may be involved in scholarly work or may be learners at any level who share their experiences with eportfolio use. During 2014, those who submit pieces to TAL are eligible to earn an AAEEBL-issued badge in recognition of their contribution to the publication. TAL, published quarterly, is currently being supported with generous assistance from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
The International Journal of ePortfolio (IJeP) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, digital publication that encourages the study of practices and pedagogies associated with eportfolio use. It is freely available online. IJeP publishes twice yearly and contains the formal scholarly research in the field of eportfolio. Learn more about the IJeP submission process, and also visit the IJeP page on the AAEEBL Community Online for the current publication information and deadlines for submission of articles.
