Gratitude for Other Portfolio Learning Organization's Work

AAEEBL is part of a global movement to move higher education toward pedagogies native to a digital knowledge world.  AAEEBL has therefore benefited at its founding from prior work in this movement and continues to benefit from collaborations with organizational friends around the world.

  • EPAC is our closest partner as Helen Chen at Stanford (co-facilitator with John Ittelson of CSU) is on the AAEEBL Board of Directors.  EPAC has a listserv that is often host to AAEEBL announcements. EPAC also co-sponsors the AAEEBL Webinar Series called "What is the ePortfolio Idea?"  Click here to go to the: EPAC website.

  • The Association of American Colleges and Universities, AAC&U, has partnered with AAEEBL right from the start of AAEEBL.  Terrel Rhodes, an AAC&U Vice President, is on the Board of AAEEBL.  AAC&U hosts the annual ePortfolio Forum at its Annual Conference; the forum is co-sponsored by AAEEBL and IJeP.

  • The Inter/National Coalition for ePortfolio Research has offered "cohorts" extensive education and guided work in eportfolio thinking for 15 years (as of 2015).  The NCePR has published extensively in that time and has helped develop an eportfolio culture on campuses around the world.  Two leaders of NCePR, Darren Cambridge and Kathleen Yancey, are on the AAEEBL Board.  To learn more about NCePR, click here.

  • The Centre for Recording Achievement in the U. K. is also allied with AAEEBL since the Director of the CRA, Rob Ward, is on the AAEEBL Board of Directors.  AAEEBL and CRA are collaborating (2015) on a planned conference in Edinburgh in 2016.  To visit the CRA, click here.

  • The LaGuardia Community College's Catalyst for Learning website and community was the result of a FIPSE grant to LaGuardia in 2010 that then involved 24 other campuses in the U. S. over a three-year period, and which continues today to be active.  AAEEBL was a partner in this grant project.  We encourage you to visit the site as it is one of the most valuable resources for portfolio learning available.  Bret Eynon, Randy Bass, and Helen Chen, leaders of the Project, are all Board members of AAEEBL.

  • The International Journal of ePortfolio, the double-blind research journal of the portfolio learning global community, is also affiliated with AAEEBL through its Editorial Board and because C. Edward Watson, the Executive Editor, is on the AAEEBL Board.

  • The eP Forum, that hosts the annual ePIC Conference in Europe -- now -- is an organizational friend to AAEEBL as we co-promote each other's conferences.  Europortfolio is an important initiative in Europe that is relatively new and the ePIC Conference organizers are key leaders in Europortfolio.

  • Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, USA, publishes The AAEEBL Learner 3 times a year.  Cindy Stevens, a professor at WIT, coordinates that effort.  WIT contributes intern time to help with layout.  Marc Zaldivar of Virginai Tech, on the AAEEBL Board, is Director of AAEEBL Publications.
